Mounts Catria and Acuto are the two main peaks of Frontone which is the ideal place to spend a holiday in pursuit of relaxation and well-being in all seasons. In the winter the town offers ski facilties. The history of Frontone is tied to the castle: one of the best examples of military architecture of the 11th century. Within the walls the town still maintains its historical roads, houses and churches intact, made all the more impressive due to the stunning views tourists can admire from the town of the sea, hills, valley and Apennine mountains. Each years the castle is decorated to host the famous Christmas markets of Frontone in which important exhibiters and numerous tourists gather. The striking Sanctuary of the Madonna dell’Acquanera, situated at about 700 metri above sea level on the slopes of  Monte Acuto, and the stations of the Via Crucis attract numerous toursists and local devotees each year. Caprile is a small town of medieval origin whose residents were mainly woodcutters and charcoal-burners, a trade which was still practised until a few years ago in accordante with ancient tradition.
